New Tool Available - Made for Brazil

Today I built Descritor, a simple tool dedicated solely to the Brazilian real estate market. Add photos, provide a brief description, and get listing-ready copy for any kind of property.

It is a straightforward tool and there are plenty like it out there, but Brazil is not served. Try searching in Portuguese for a simple problem like "how to improve property listing description" and you will only find guides and how-tos. No ready-to-use tool.

This is the first of many tools I plan to launch focused on the Brazilian market.

New Bass Visualization Tool Available

I started learning bass about a month ago. Went online to find tabs for songs I wanted to play.

Got this:

G|-----------------|
D|-----------------|
A|-----2---2---2---|
E|-0-0---0---0---0-|

Stared at it for like 10 minutes. Which string is G? Where is the 2? Why are there so many dashes?

I simply was not down to figuring out how to play Another One Bites the Dust from a text file.

What I Needed

Just show me where to put my fingers. That is it.

YouTube videos were too slow. I would watch someone play, try to copy, rewind, watch again. Tabs were faster to reference but made no sense visually.

I wanted to see the actual fretboard with dots showing me where to press.

Built It Tonight

Took about 90 minutes. You paste a tab, it shows you a bass fretboard with the notes highlighted. Click through them one by one.

Added save functionality so I do not lose tabs I am working on. Made it work on mobile because that is where I actually use it.

Called it Hofner (Paul McCartney's bass).

Speaking of which, I have also added right/left handed mode.

Still Rough

No fancy features yet. Just the basics. But it works and it is helping me learn, so I figured I would put it out there.

Planning to add:

  • Some popular songs already loaded
  • Loop sections for practice
  • Maybe a metronome

We will see. For now it does what I needed.

If you are learning bass and this helps, let me know. If it is missing something obvious, also let me know.
